Beefy Dog Biscuits

I have a dog, and he's spoiled. I've tried to deny it, but the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem, right? So I will admit that Charlie is spoiled. We went for a walk the other day. It got warm, it was a long walk, and I ended up carrying him the last 20 minutes. He's only 7 pounds, but still...he's a dog, he could have walked.

Today I made him some of his favorite homemade treats, using leftover broth from a roast I made for my honey.

Beef Broth Dog Biscuits
(It makes a lot of small biscuits)
  • 3/4 cup corn meal
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1 cup oat flour
  • 1 egg
Pre heat oven to 350.
Mix all ingredients together.

If you don't have oat flour, simply put a cup of regular old fashioned oats into your food processor and blend until it turns into a nice powder.

I ended up using my hands to get it all mixed, I'm not afraid of getting dirty! Roll out to about 1/4 inch thickness, and cut with cookie cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. For the last little bit of dough I formed a bone.

Bake 40-45 minutes (Charlie likes his biscuits crunchy).
