So, once again, I'm trying to include apples in nearly everything I make. Wish me luck! I hope I don't get sick of apples. I'll have to try and spread them out, and use them in a variety of ways.
This is an incredibly easy, and wholesomely tasty dessert. I like it even better than a regular apple crisp.
Baked Apple Dessert
- 1 large apple, cut in half, crosswise
- 3 tablespoons oats
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- 1/2 tablespoon dark brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1-2 tablespoons chopped walnuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 350.
Mix together oats, maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon and nuts.
Core apple, and fill each hollow center with filling. Bake in glass dish for 20-25 minutes.
Top with vanilla frozen yogurt and sprinkle with more cinnamon.
